General Information

Onsite Location: Mountain View, CA OR McLean, VA (Onsite 5 days per week)

We are seeking a Software Engineer to join the Wallet - Authentication team, where we build
the core sign-in, registration, and account management experiences that over 140 million
members rely on to access the our identity wallet.

As a Software Engineer III, you will work end-to-end across our authentication stack — building
features that balance security, usability, and trust at scale. Your work will sit at the intersection of
identity, security, and consumer experience, directly shaping how millions of people prove and access who they are online.

Key Responsibilities

• Build & Ship Authentication Features: Build, maintain, and improve the ID.me Wallet
  authentication experience — sign-in, registration, MFA, account recovery, password reset, and MyWallet. Independently drive small-to-medium features end-to-end from design through deployment, collaborating closely with Product, Design, and Security to translate requirements into well-tested, production-ready code.

• Security, Risk & Reliability: Own and evolve the team's real-time risk engine and its integration across authentication flows — detecting and mitigating credential attacks, account takeover, and abuse while preserving a low-friction experience for legitimate members.

• Apply security best practices as a first-class concern in every feature you ship, and help raise the bar for authentication reliability, observability, and incident response across the team's services.

• Code Quality & Engineering Craft: Write high-quality, maintainable code with strong
  test coverage, following team best practices around code reviews, CI/CD, and
  documentation.

• Contribute to the health of the codebase by identifying and addressing technical debt and improving shared components.

• Third-Party & Internal Integrations: Integrate with MFA providers, email/SMS delivery
  services, internal identity services, and downstream relying parties. Proactively raise issues or opportunities discovered during integration work.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Product, Design, Security, Identity, and
  adjacent engineering teams to deliver cohesive auth experiences. Participate actively in planning, retrospectives, and cross-team discussions — bringing your perspective to help shape the team's roadmap.

Requirements

Required Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent
  practical experience).

• 3+ years of professional software development experience with a strong emphasis on full-stack web engineering.

• Proficiency with AI-assisted development tooling (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor)
  demonstrated by at least one year of daily use, in addition to a commitment to an AI-first engineering culture that leverages these tools to maximize code quality, test coverage, and engineering velocity.

• Experience with authentication and identity standards such as OAuth2, OpenID
  Connect, SAML, or FIDO2/WebAuthn.
  Experience building or contributing to fraud detection, real-time risk engines, or abuse
  mitigation systems.

• Proficiency in a modern server-side web framework (e.g., Ruby on Rails, Django,
  Laravel), with hands-on experience building and operating production web applications.

• Demonstrated ability to independently ship well-tested, production-quality features with
  minimal oversight.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a track record of working effectively across Product, Design, and Engineering.

• Familiarity with security best practices for credential handling — password storage,
  session management, token issuance, and rate limiting.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with React or other modern frontend frameworks for building user
  experiences.

• Comfort working in a fast-moving product environment with iterative releases and A/B
  testing.

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing frameworks, and performance

We are seeking a Freelance Senior Software Engineer to support a forward-thinking investment group building a sophisticated, fintech-adjacent digital platform. This is not a generic backend engagement. You will be working across a modern full-stack TypeScript and Next.js product, contributing to investor-facing interfaces, transactional workflows, admin tooling, and the data integrations that tie it all together. ROLE REQUIREMENTS

• Deliver full-stack feature work across a modern TypeScript and Next.js App Router codebase, including server actions, API routes, and service-layer logic
• Build accessible, responsive, design-system-driven UI in React, bringing the same care and discipline to the front end as to the back end
• Design and maintain clean service, domain, and persistence boundaries that support a scalable, maintainable, and auditable codebase
• Work with PostgreSQL via Prisma and Supabase, or bring comparable depth with relational databases and ORMs
• Implement and maintain authorization-aware data access patterns, with a strong understanding of auth, session management, and security considerations in a regulated or fintech-adjacent context
• Build and maintain form-heavy transactional workflows using schema validation approaches such as React Hook Form and Zod
• Integrate with CMS platforms, ideally Contentful, to support content-driven product surfaces
• Write meaningful tests across unit, component, and integration layers using Vitest or equivalent tooling, with a focus on testing the flows that matter most
• Work within a CI/CD pipeline using GitHub Actions and deploy to Vercel, maintaining delivery hygiene and production reliability
• Bring comfort and prior experience working with regulated workflows, investor portals, admin tooling, or data integrations involving platforms such as Databricks or Azure
• Collaborate with product, design, and engineering partners to shape solutions, not just implement them

The Basics:

As a Tanium Senior Software Engineer, DevOps, you will be designing and managing systems, tools, and infrastructure to enable the entire engineering org to deliver code to our customers consistently, rapidly, safely, and reliably.

• Work alongside a cross-functional engineering team to develop the next generation pipeline to build, release, and test Tanium products and services

What you’ll get

The annual base salary range for this full-time position is $154,000 to $236,000. This range is an estimate for what Tanium will pay a new hire. The actual annual base salary offered may be adjusted based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, location, education, skills, training, and experience.

Responsibilities:

Participate in developing and documenting User Stories by providing the test strategy and automation estimates.

Qualifications:

Experience in Java/Ruby/C#/Python coding.

The base compensation range for this position is CAD $80,000 - $120,000. Target Compensation Range (US ONLY): 95,000 - 160,000 USD annually. On target compensation refers to the base salary and applicable variable target for this role. The range is an estimate, base pay will ultimately be decided at the offer stage, based on an individual candidate’s skills and experience aligned with the needs of the role. Base pay may vary based on several factors including geographic location, role specific qualifications, and seniority. Nintex also offers a competitive benefits package including paid time off, twelve paid holidays, 401(k) with employer match, and more.

Job Description

• Full Lifecycle Ownership: Responsible for architecture, solution design, development, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of a subset of 300+ RESTful microservices.
• Team Leadership & Management: Manage a team of ~5 developers, including 1:1s, performance reviews, monitoring, and improvement.
• Hands-on Contribution: Actively contribute code and complete tasks personally, not just delegate work.
• Quality & Best Practices: Conduct code reviews, enforce coding/architecture best practices, and provide actionable feedback.
• Team Growth & Hiring: Mentor team members, support their development, conduct developer interviews, and set an example in using AI coding assistants to improve quality and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Experienced Leader: At least 2 years leading and taking responsibility for developer teams and software projects.
• Java Expert: 5+ years of modern Java programming experience, with strong focus on clean code and best practices.
• Cloud & Microservices: Solid understanding of microservice architectures and AWS services (e.g., ECS, SQS/SNS, EC2, Lambda, CloudWatch).
• Spring Proficiency: At least 3 years hands-on experience with Spring technologies, including Spring Boot (preferably Spring Cloud).
• Strong Communication & Pragmatism: Excellent at clarifying business needs, collaborating across teams, and balancing ideal API design with practical business requirements; bonus for experience using AI coding tools.
